Mike & Darlyn | Wedding | Woodland Park Zoo

Fire dances, swords, animals, ice luge and a crazy good time. Mike and Darlyn’s Woodland Park Zoo wedding was amazing! Mike is a bit of a celebrity and works at Penny Arcade. Their wedding is one of two featured in a video on PATV. Both Mike and Darlyn put an amazing amount of work into customizing their wedding and making it truly about them. One of the highlights included a custom sword that Mike wore during the ceremony and that they used to cut the cake. Before the toasts, Mike used a saber to open champagne! During the ceremony they did a traditional Scottish hand fasting. And instead of hyphenating or exchanging names, they both took Hayes as a new last name! You can read more about that here.

Jennifer & Garret | Wedding | Edgewater Hotel

Check out a few of my favorites from Jennifer and Garret’s wedding at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle. The ceremony was at Calvary Christian Assembly. During the day we were able to stop by Gas Works Park and also by Pike Place Market for some photos at the Fish Market. Feel free to leave comments and thoughts at the bottom.

Mari & Joel | Center For Urban Horticulture | Seattle

Mari and Joel’s wedding was filled with fun and turned out great. Kristen Pittman kept things running smoothly throughout the day. The food was superb and the venue had plenty of character. Mari’s parents David and Lori made me feel so welcome, it was a true pleasure being a part of the wedding. One of the most unusual moments was a full on cupcake fight. I was able to capture some great moments but unfortunately, Mari ended up with a bit too much frosting in her eye. But things were all good after a short break. Around dusk Mari, Joel and I were able to step away to make a few images of the two of them. This is one of my favorite parts of each wedding and shooting at dusk really allows me to capture a lot of mood in my images.

Short ceremonies seem to be very popular among the youngest generation.

Wow, it was hard to pick just a few wedding photographs to blog. Jeff and Jessica had a gorgeous wedding ceremony at Blessed Sacrament Church. What an amazing church! Beautiful light, beautiful subjects!

Next, we headed to Alki Beach to shoot some photos before the reception at Salty’s. They couldn’t have picked more beautiful day for their wedding.
